You are calling the ear a piece of gear? LOL

Well, I guess you can...but bear in mind that it is the brain that really does the work. Without it, the ears would be rendered nearly useless.

Hey - anyone think that the pic of the Cochlea on the right looks like a cinnamon bun without the icing?

Not high end at all...

Seriously limited bandwidth and hardly consistent production specs. Most of them have serious roll-off below 20 kHz. Even Behringer manages to do better...

Common maybe, perhaps not high end... but go try and replace one.

I watched a documentary on string theory last night and one scientist explained how the ear use quantum tunneling to work. Amazing.

I got a neat phase alignment tool for mine.

Some people say adding bits of metal to them makes the sound more likely to pick up chicks, but I got cheapo Bearinger ones and they went green.
