Releasing CD w/ crossfades for DD

A question about releasing a Redbook cd with cross-faded tracks for digital distribution.
The cd will have the tracks listed separately but when it's converted to mp3 the cross-faded ones would have to be merged into a single track from the cd (or upload a single wave with the cross-faded tracks)

How do you ME's handle this? Should I treat these as 2 separate releases ( using different UPC, ISRC ) cd version/ singles version?

Thanks

I always inform my clients when there is a cross fade that there will be a a portion of the previous song heard when ripped from the CD for DD. Everything should sound fine after when downloaded as long as the playback software does not have the default spacing turned on.

In addition to what Ed said you can request from the ME, the songs without the cross faded audio and release those as digital downloads.

Yep.

Crossfaded on the CD version, separated on the DD version.

Did one like this last week.

I guess the down side of seperating them for DD is that some distributors such as CD baby sell both the physical disc & distribute to many download sites. A one stop connection for the artist/label if you will....
more than one submission will require a whole new set of IRSC codes & double the submission cost.

So you treated it as 2 releases using separate IRSC's / UPC's for each version, right?
