How "flat and uncolored" is the DAC on your computer?

I have also noticed som pretty drastic sonic differences in playing the same file back in different softwares, going through my Rosetta 800. I'm not sure I've ever heard it when playing back through a DAW (I have ProTools, Cubase, Studio One); only when playing back through itunes, media player, or other such software. It's a curiosity to me. Anyone have a further insight into this?

This has been discussed many times.. Itunes sound enhancer could be on, itunes eq could be on, theres some automatic samplerate conversion going on possibly..

Now snapper however should be flat as can be, so will any other sample editor..

Foobar plays through my ASIO no problem....as long as you have your asio selected as your playback in your sounds settings on your computer!

Snapper sounds great, but I also think sounds brighter than Itunes with sound enhancer and EQ off.

Now, is Snapper actually better??? sounds very detailed and rich, but I am not sure if is brighter than the actual reality.......or not.
