Logic and double blind?

Is there anything to help do double blind testing with logic pro?

I am in the process of learning and many times the parameters I think I want are not what I actually want, because being a software engineer I think I have a good idea what's going on, but really I am just a walking bag of misconceptions.

Many times I'll spend an a good hour tweaking something, and I just get lost, and eventually I listen to what I had an hour before, and certain things will sound better (hopefully what I was trying for), but others will sound much worse.

I'm trying to make this learning process a little less frustrating.

I can trick myself for by randomly clicking the compare/bypass/mute buttons as appropriate, but it's not really practical for going back and forth between the two versions, seeking etc.

On the other hand, exporting files for tweaking is even more convoluted.

Hi,
I'm not an old hand with Logic but I don't know of it having a feature or hack which would support what you're trying to do. To accomplish A/B source and target swapping I'm using the Metric Halo console (v1) with custom DSP graphs (using matrix mixers with their 5 presets). This way I can flip between multiple source materials (daw, itunes, etc.) and multiple targets with a single mouse click e.g. (main monitors, ns10 and mono checker).

Having a source / target radio toggle routing thing built into Logic or even Coreaudio would be really nice. It shouldn't be limited to A/B either.
I would envision it as most useful as an IO matrix with 10 or more user presets with hotkey assignments for which routing configuration is active and a dim key for cutting dropping the volume (perhaps fn+ and fn-), working in steps of 6db.

If there is a way to configure OSX or Logic for this already, I'd love to hear about it as I can't use hotkeys with the MIO Matrix Mixers and the V2 +DSP upgrade doesn't have such flexible graphs (routing wise).. --- V2 was an upgrade, just sort of killed the graph routing capabilities, but I've put a request in about this.

Cheers,
A

you can probably come up with something by patching things together in logics environment. It's a scary place and you have to get creative, but I'm sure there is some way of triggering different takes or whatever randomly.

I've made lots of things in Logic's environment, but nothing that would help with double blind testing. otherwise, I'd just send you the template.

But if it can be done, that's where you should be looking.
