Master CD: Last track not played back. Need Help!

Okay here we go...

burned a Master CD last night and some of my devices won't play back the last track of the CD. CD is not even close to full (12 Tracks, whole disc approx. 400 mb) Even the drive I burned the CD with is not playing it back. I put the CD in my laptop, everything works, made the car test, everything works. Put it in the PC -> Track 12 is shown but can not be played back...

Burned the CD with Nero Disc At Once mode, Speed: 8x

Tried another CD with options "enable disc at once overburning" and "enable generation of short lead out" both off... Same shit

Tried another CD brand... Same shit

Commercial burned CD's played back without problem. So it's either the Lead out not written correctly by nero or my Drives playing games. Both the DVD player in my PC and the Writer won't read the last track but will show it. Put the CD in my Laptop or Car everything works fine...

I just want to make shure the CD will be read correctly at the manufacturing...

Any ideas???

I need fast help guys don't let me down

All I can think of is the drive is wearing out so try another drive for writing. To confirm whether it is the drive, try writing another 12 track sequence that you know worked before and see if the same thing happens.

If the previous sequence makes a good disc, even if it is inconvenient, start a brand new sequencing session for the problem album and reburn as the one you are using may have gotten corrupted.

Of course if you have a program other than Nero, you could try that to see if it is the drive.

As long as you send the disc with a label showing the track count the plant will let you know if there is a problem. You could even put in a note or call to alert them but of course would be better to figure it out first.

If I was having these kind of problems and were about to pay for the CD to be pressed I would seriously consider sending the info and the tracks to a professional mastering studio and have them just create and check a production master disc for you. I have done this for plenty of bands and it usually doesn't take that long and at least you know you have the best copy of your material for production.

It would be a small price to pay for that confidence, especially when you compare that cost to your manufacturing cost and any additional charges the manufacturer may charge you if there is a problem

And that's no less than CD Mastering, too.

Mastering ≠ processing, as has been said before.

If the drive has been been reliable in the past and just started acting up, I wouldn't trust it to print a pre-master. Not worth the risk.

Must've been the printer. Burned a JVC Taiyo Yuden with my new Laptop and everything works fine. Do printer-lasers have a date of expiry? I bought the printer 3 years ago, an expensive one from LG but haven't burned more than approx. 100 Discs in this whole period. That's nothing IMO.

Whatever, thanks for the input...
