Thread Starter | Mastering Dance music to Vinyl
Hey all, I have been mastering a lot lately and I am getting more confident in my work. I master for an even amount of Vinyl and CD/Digital delivery platforms. However, when I normally master for Vinyl, it is in the Rock domain, not dance or electronic. Usually, I will make a version with limiters for the CD/Digital domain, then the Vinyl version is the same EQ etc, but without any limiting. however, Dance still needs a good amount of push to be convincing. How loud are you pushing things with Dance on Vinyl? My peaks go to 0, but I keep my crest factor down to 10 or 11. Is it dangerous to use limiters on masters for vinyl? What type of crest factor can you go up to for vinyl masters? Thanks any info or tips is greatly appreciated. Best, |

I think you should just make a testcut and see how it sounds, since thats all it matters most cases
