unsupported files

I recently "graduated" from a 702 to a 744t and busted my cherry with the 744t last night. I've copied the wavs to my PC but I can't get my cheesy Soundforge Audio Studio 9.0 to open up the wav files as it says "file is an unsupport format, contains unsupported number of channels". Sound like a limitaion with my s/w but I only recorded to two channels. What am I missing?

Can't you just try to load the files in another program? Preferably one that can show you info about the number of channels. And check again that you didn't record 4 channel files.

download the free WaveAgent application from Sound Devices and see if it will correctly open the assets in question.

Thanks for the help. I downloaded the free/beta version of Audacity which shows the number of channels and my files do have four channels yet only two actually have data in them (the other two are completely blank).

I forgot to mention the mic config I used for these recordings were my first hand at a mid side (AK20/AK40) but I don't know if that has anything to do with it?
