I lol'd.

PS: But seriously, I know someone who uses one and raves about it but haven't tried it myself yet.

Not 'used' one, but heard one in action, in person. It's delicious. Rich, smooth, classy, all those sort of adjectives...

Check the 'passive eq shoot out' thread for sabian's comments (it was at his place I heard it). He went for the recording version, as on fine adjustments the motorised pots on the mastering version don't track... at all. And for an extra ~£2k, they should not only track but make a world-class cup of tea.

Huh. Yeah that's disappointing about the pots...especially on the mastering version.
I checked out the "passive EQ shoot out" thread and found sabian's comments very informative; exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks !

I had one here for a month or two. I really liked it. It was very open and fairly neutral. Opening up the top end was very nice without much added color. I was however hoping for a bit more color (whatever that means), and I wanted more interaction capability with push/pull style eq'ing. So I ended up with a massive passive. Totally different beast, but what I was looking for.

Great box though and massive headroom!
