In my very limited opinion, 320 kbps mp3 sounds almost indistinguishable from a CD, but I really don't listen to CDs too often anymore. Either way I think the music is more important than the minute difference.

If you heard it on the big Dunlavy's or other HD mastering monitors, the difference would be day and night... huge.

That said, if I must make mp3's for a client, I do 320k and possibly 256/192k.
