I have a translation problem that I'm not sure can be fixed during mastering.

Ok...the mix sounds good in my studio, I bounce it down, transfer it to a thumb-drive, to my ipod, and to a cd. The problem only shows up with the CD on one particular system...on my truck's CD player. The mix sounds like it has a pumping sound with a major compressor on it....yet if I put in a commercial cd, everything is fine. I even checked it on my other car's cd player and my mix was fine there. So, I'm not sure if it's my truck's CD player or if it's my mix. I'm not sure.

What does this sound like to you guys?

Sidenote: What the hell is DC OFFSET and could this be what I'm dealing with?

It's when you have read and understood enough of his sage posts to get the vantage point of standing on the shoulder of a giant.

Technically speaking, it's asymmetry around the zero point. If you can hear a click sound when starting and stopping the audio, it's a problem. If you can't, never mind!

Some car and truck stereos have "built in compressors" and maybe you have one of those and it is reacting badly to your mastering. ????
