Depends on what the purpose is.
If you want to just hang out Santa Monica bumpin listening to 50c, then Beats!!
If you want to mix or listen to colorless details of a song, trash the Beats.
I did a comparison. Beyers for $200 kicks serious butt!
P's. I still dont understand the use of the word "sampled" in the thread not everything has to be sampled ya know..lol

Company founded by jimmy lovine and dr dre .. Jimmy lovine is president of interscope etc. which might explain why there's now a gaga phone.
Shouldn't be in mastering, maybe even the forum at all, but let's face it, amazing business, hats off to jimmy.
(and no, with that in mind I don't really see dre pitching it to electronics companies lol)

If you're listening to 50c, wouldn't you want to use his head phones? SMS by 50 Cent Street Over-Ear headphones | The Sun |Travel|Gadget of the week

When I listen to JZ, I use his: Jay-Z To Compete Against Diddy & Dr. Dre W/ New Headphones Line, "Our Passion Is Creating Amazing Music" | SOHH.COM

..and then there's Diddy, Ludacris, RZA, Kanye, and...

Well someone asked if beats were ever used in mastering. When I think about it I do indirectly as part of my mix checks. After a print I listen on different stuff like beats, buds, computer speakers with sub, car, and on the tv sometimes. So I guess the persons ? Was really if beats are credible for critical listening. And I think this is okay given high hit threads about getting super duper loud masters.
