Is there any mastering house out there doing full analog 5.1 or 7.1 mastering?
Who does this? Sterling? Grundman?

even though the system 6000 is "dated" by a few new gen. plug-ins....it still does things that no other box or piece of software will do....

also a lot of folks seem to be forgetting that it is also a world class verb.

I am not sure that anyone who actually owns a system 6000 would ever take it for granted. I see a few comments on this thread by people who obviously don't have real world experience with a System 6k....

for the record, even though the a/d-d/a section is old (so are the pacific microsonics) it's still my go to conversion....

I have listened to quite a few other a/d-d/a chains over the years and I still prefer the system 6k on the linear setting to everything else....essentially what you feed it is what you get back out....

it's also a phenomenal tool for tracking....inject your favorite mic/pre combo into one of the a/d's...throw a limiter on for safety sake (I have yet to actually overload a sys 6k input) and aes out to your DAW....it makes for a flawless conversion and utility chain

to each his own I suppose

I am considering the upgrade for my unit....but TC is being a bit vague about what it actually includes....and it seems to be a moving target....

I would love to have the matrix 88 for external summing (using system 6k conversion) and for injecting algo. blocks in new ways (parallel)

Also some other features of the upgrade seems enticing.....

but there is no mention of upgrades for the ICON or host CPU....so does that mean I have to buy a whole new ICON/host for the new features?? I don't like that idea at all....if that's the case I think I will just stick with what works
