Burning my Master CD

Ok so first what CD to burn on? Ive been reading around on here and it looks like the Taiyo Yuden silver premiums are good
100 Taiyo Yuden 52X CD-R Silver Thermal Premium CDR MM - eBay (item 330349894397 end time Apr-01-10 07:35:30 PDT)
Like those there...seems like an ok price to me.

Second...is burning my "redbook" final cd in nero the right option...im assuming nero can do this correct?
I really dont want to spend money on another program unless its necessary.
All mastering is done and i have final 44.1 16bit dithered .wav files of each track.

So what else do I need to know...is just sticking them in the right order and burning them in Nero ok...or am i missing ALOT here...im assuming i am.

So anyone hook me up with some advice on how to burn a good master cd to send out because i need to do it within the next month and I want to make sure I do it right!

Those CD's look OK and the price is about right for genuine Taiyo Yudens. There are a few fakes around or discs that use the Taiyo Yuden name which are actually made by other manufacturers using Taiyo Yuden's dye which aren't as good as the real thing.

Nero is capable of burning a CD suitable for use as a master but you need to check a few options. Make sure you burn in disc at once mode rather than track at once. Check the gaps between tracks - Nero will insert a 2 second gap by default but this will need to be changed to make the album flow properly. A gap of at least 2 seconds is mandatory before the first track but the gaps can be reduced to zero between the subsequent tracks if the .wav files have already allowed for the time between tracks.

You should also be aware that the optimum burn speed is usually somewhere in the middle of your drive's speed range.

To find the optimum burn speed you should check the CD's you produce for errors. If you are lucky, you will have a CD Writer that is compatible with the error checking in Nero's Drivespeed program so try that first. If Drivespeed tells you that you have no C1 errors then your CD drive isn't compatible so you will just have to hope that your CD's are suitably error free (or buy another burner).

Those are the basics that I can think of for now - hope it helps.

Cheers

James.

Nero doesn't distribute DriveSpeed anymore. It's now independent (again) and called "Opti Drive Control" and it's better than ever.
Opti Drive Control website
cheers

You are all set with those Taiyo Yuden's. High quality media with a very low error rate; used by most mastering engineers.
