Who's using pluggins ONLY for mastering?

You've got nice preamps, some cool hardware compressors for tracking and have the best converters you can afford. All your guitar amps are vintage classics and you use the right mic for the job. The vocals and drums sound great and were recorded in a nice room with a great room ambiance. All your sounds were captured upfront and are sitting in the mix nicely, your mix sounds great and you watched your gain stagging all the way through the song. Now you just want to get the overall volume of the master up a little and maybe add a touch of "glue".

What are you folks using for this last, finishing touch?

You've managed to avoid using pluggins all the way through, do you dare run your master through a mastering plug?

Who ONLY uses pluggins to finish the track as the master? And how did you come to this method?

thanks,
Steelyfan

Do it. Its amazing. I had a long time ago a girlfriend who knew Dali very well.
I even went with her to visit him but his wife Gala just died.
In that time he was in La Perra (the castle of Gala) close by Gerona.

Good luck with the planning.

I have the exact same situation. I tracked with Neve, SSL preamps, mixed with RME converter through 02R96 board with Drawmer Masterflow Mastering processor.
I am very happy with mix, but Drawmer, if You use it in optimal mode, don't give You good RMS loudness on output. Then I found very good results with UAD Precision limiter to up RMS for 3-6 db or if I need more color or glue, excellent results is with UAD Fatso in harmonic Generator mode only. Fatso also works in the same time as loudness amplifier.
