Thread Starter | next room evaluation question
i read a book on audio and it explains when your far away from a sound it will sound darker because high frequencys fade out first. well explain this to me.. im listening to a song a pro mixed.. on an analyzer the bass looks 10db higher then the rest of a spectrum like a normal pro mixed song. when i walk out of the room the song stays intact.. u can pretty much hear every element pretty good. Then when i put aband pass filter on the 60hz to 140hz range and walk out, i can barley hear anything at all.. when the band pass filter is on around 2k it sounds real loud in the next room. Shouldnt the opposite be happening? lower information travels better? is this some expertise tricks with reverb to make high frequency content not sound so loud when ur right up on speakers? |

Lower frequencies take more energy to be heard verse their higher end counter part.
