new gear from France

Well, summer holiday is over .... back on track after a 3 weeks break with my wife and kids ...
I drove my ducati from Holland to Dieppe from there to Omaha beach all along the coast off france which was really a thrill .. later joined by my girl and kids ... stayed in Normandie for one week and 2 more weeks a bit more south in the Vendee ... we had great weather and sunshine ...

at a brocante I just could not resist this 78 pick-up ... it sounds fantastic and the french chansons on the three disks are perfect .. it was wonderfull to play after the barbecue with some wine and good cigars ..

the sound directly tracks to your heart .... it reminds me off my starting facination for audio as a small kid ...

okay ... see you around ..

We do an annual "Hearty Souls" camp-out, traveling by bikes (BMWs and one Miata). It happens in the wilds of Oregon in late October. One of the guys (Miata) always brings his 78 machine. It's typically playing Glen Miller Orch., and will only run as long as the temps don't drop too low. After sunset, the oil in the spindle freezes and we have to resort to sitting around the fire telling lies. The last time I went, the temps dipped to 14 degrees F.

It's great nostalgia. Enjoy it and the Duc in good health!

Hey Wim,
During your vacation i restored 100 French chansons. Wish i had access to the source media sometimes...

Oh, and monday i have an appointment with somebody who asked me to give a workshop on audio restoration. It's for a collector's club of antique equipment.
Care to join ?

Welcome back btw!

You could run that Duc for years over here and not hit the same road twice. Let me know if you want some suggestions for riding in the west. ;-)

Long Way Around is great. Long Way Down seems very contrived, but still fun.

Enjoy the chansons!
