Millenia NSEQ-1 -->Advice

I am thinking of purchasing a Millenia NSEQ-1 Solid State for mastering use, but have never heard one (and won't have a chance to demo it first). Some say that the Solid State portion of the NSEQ-2 is the same as the NSEQ-1, however, someone at Millenia told me that they are different and sound different.

Does anyone have mastering experience with the NSEQ-1?

Because the price of a used one is quite attractive, there aren't many competitors in that price range...

Any comments, suggestions or advice?

Many thanks!

Not quite the same, but the 1 is still really good, and can usually be found pretty affordably since not too many people know what it is. The 2 is preferable, but the 1 is certainly worthy of consideration for a good price.

More mojo in the NSEQ-1?....interesting. Can you describe this a little more in detail?
Thanks!

it has a thickness and weight. not transparent. you can hear "EQ" in the chain. like a really firm handshake from a man with bananas for fingers.

the forssell modded NSEQ-2 on the other hand is transparent, but "sweet", like a hug from someone pretty.

I like your description! Thank you.
I guess both units have their place. Ideally, one would like to have both options....the firm handshake and the hug! However, I must chose...

Will my decision reflect my personality?

I had a feeling that the NSEQ-1 doesn't have variable q on the midbands - I could be wrong it was years ago I saw pictures and google image search is misbehaving so I can't seem to check.

There is some difference in the control topology between the series though I'm pretty sure.
