Wave Editor (iZotope SRC) for Mac was one of the best I tested and the least expensive. But if you are on PC, I don't know any of the ones you've listed EXCEPT Protools HD and that was generally not as good as iZotope. I also tested Saracon (Weiss product) and it was also great but more expensive and not any better than WE.

If you want to look at some measured comparison results, see: SRC Comparisons

For SRC in software, I've found it's pretty tough to beat the iZotope SRC in SampleManager, which for $79 is one of the best audio utility apps ever. It's the same SRC as used in WaveEditor and shown in the "Wave Editor" listing on the infinitewave comparison.

Peak 6's SRC is good too, and has a unique option to prevent clipping/gain change on near-0dBFS signals, but it is rather slow.. Pro Tools' Tweakhead is no slouch either...

If you're on PC, Voxengo R8Brain is definitely one of the best sounding sample converters beside the iZotope RX app. There's also a freeware version of R8Brain, which is more than good enough .

Cheers!

you did say hardware, right?

Apogee Rosetta 200 + two DAWs (one to playback, one to record - all done in the digital domain)

to me this sounds WAY better than any software SRC i have ever heard

so you record all the data live to the record daw with lower sample rate
and they both using one rosetta convertor ?

Where can I get an actually useable and streamlined batch-capable Windows front end for SoX?? The ones that I found online were a mess - and frankly going back to command line apps after about 15 years of not really needing them is a pain for me to do. Seems like a worthy thing for someone to take the time to code.

EDIT:
seems there's a plugin frontend for Foobar2000 - foobar2000 - now with the SoX src - A new resampler DSP for foobar2000 - Hydrogenaudio Forums

Best regards,
