Advice for mastering and mixing book or resources

Hi Everyone,

Need an advice for mixing /mastering guide book? I've learned skills on my own just by reading posts and figuring out but now looking for methodical approach of sort of what a mentor person would introduce you to...

Any advice for such a resource or book?

Thanks,
Peter

Mastering:
Bob Katz: Mastering Audio - The Art and the Science

Mixing:
Bobby Owsinksi: The Mixing Engineer's Handbook

Anecdotal stuff about producing and mixing:
Howard Massey: Behind the Glass - Top Record Producers Tell How They Craft the Hits

Nerdy stuff about acoustics and sound in general:
F. Alton Everest: Master Handbook of Acoustics

For Mastering Bob Katz Mastering Audio book is great, it has some nice detailed information on mastering and comes with a handy musical pitch relation chart. The Mastering Engineers Handbook has a bunch of interviews with Bob as well as other legendary ME's. There are a few books for "home studio mastering" but unless you're looking for mediocre information I would suggest learning from Pro Mastering Engineers like Bob Katz instead.

For Mixing, I agree "The Mixing Engineers Handbook" has alot of info, mixing in pro tools is good if you use pro tools, I like Charles Dye's "Mix it like a record" dvd, he does some pretty cool mixes and watching his video might help you alot.

Hope that helps

"Recording The Beatles" is highly recommended and should be required reading for anyone who plans on doing anything audio.

"Mixing With Your Mind" is a decent book...

While I liked his mixing book, I didn't like his mastering book that much.
