Q-Setting in Mastering

What is a typical Q-range (min and max Q) on your EQs for mastering when cutting and boosting ?

The one that's needed. Same with the frequency and the amount of cut/boost.

There is no "typical" -- Okay, maybe one. 2.5kHz in a lot of metal. That said - The width and amount of cut is dictated by the mixes.

For analog eq ...as wide as possible...that is, unless they need to be narrow... then narrow's the way to go...

depends entirely on the content and what one is try to do with a particular band of eq...so somehwere beteween broad, and narrow usually works. twiddle about and use your ears, when its right it'll sing to you

1.6 and nothing else.

sorry, you're probably sick of sarcastic and vague replies. The problem is that your question is like if you were trying to become a hairstylist, so you asked a barber how much hair you should cut off someone's head (without saying anything about how long your customer's hair is or how short they want it). The question makes no sense without a context, and unfortunately there are so many uses for an equalizer that there is no one rule of thumb, besides "use your ears".
