i would personally prefer the API 2500 if I was only concerned with "slam" or "weight" however, it get's you locked into a sound that you really can't get away from.... I would personally choose a focusrite RED3 if I could only have ONE outboard comp. the API 2500 is truly glorious on "aggressive" drum tones |
