Thread Starter | Best Mac software to insert PQ/ISRC codes?
Well, it's 2009. What Mac software is everyone using for inserting PQ and ISRC codes? Thanks in advance for all suggestions...

Something stable and inexpensive for the mac that will do PQ and ISRC is Jam/Toast by Roxio. You can also do crossfades, cd text, and print red book compliant CDR. |

Toast does it - doesn't get much cheaper than that.

I used to take Jam/Toast and switched to PreMaster CD. Since then my whole workflow is faster. A lot of adjustments, editing and fades i made in PT LE before I now do in PMCD. I would never do serious crossfades in Toast. In PMCD I´m faster with it and the fades are a lot easier to adust. But PMCD is a real mastering tool where you often think it sounds better than other DAWs. Toast ist just a tool to burn CDs - audio CDs also. Comparing these two is like comparing apples and oranges.

Don't bother with PMCD always crashes...never remembers a project, so you have to do it all again. Which is well handy / pro! if you've just spent 2 hours editing with a client sitting next to you. Sonic PMCD is Rubbish!!!! Buy Sadie if you use a PC and cry if you use a Mac... |

very true, on a leopard 2core macpro. i must add though, that i always quit and restart the program after assembly and then do the burn/ddp creation. had some troubles in the past not doing so, and the extra few minutes it takes give my a compulsory break |

How weird, it's very stable here. Editing and delivering all day long without any problems (mostly in sB, but it's the same thing, just missing the added features). Thor

Waveburner is the best Mac software for mastering audio cd with orange book/red book spec fully supported... the sound quality is also related with hardware cd recorder quality and of course final destination support quality (RIAA pre enphasis is also supported for old CD player)

Excuse me, but what does this mean? Quote:
Don't you think that the app itself, and how it handles the audio internally might have something to do with the sound? Just curious.... Thor | |

+1 pmcd on a mac very unstable to the point where I've had to go back to jam not only has it been constant crashes, but it has introduced pops into the audio several times this was over a period of 6 months before i threw in the towel |

Can you tell which version of PMCD you used on which Mac and OS? I used Jam for 4 years until 2007. Then I switched to PMCD and never looked back using the first Intel MacBook Pro and OS 10.4. (now 10.4.11) in conjunction with a Sonic Studio Model302 interface |

Verified Member | Good call, apparently problems with Sonic is entirely OS / CPU / version / configuration dependent. PMCD 3.01 works great here at home on my MacBook (Intel) with OSX 10.5.7. Interested to see what v3.1 will bring... wish they'd go ahead and release it. JT
