Softube FET Compressor

Hi all !

Well... the banner at the top corner certainly looks good and shiny. And what a shiny GUI

Has anybody tryed this for mastering yet ?

No not yet, im not sure I'd really use a 1176 ish comp for mastering anyway, just my tastes, but a little bit aggressive. I've heard it sounds bloody excellent, wouldnt mind using it on the drum buss or for heavy guitars though.thumbsup

Funny you should revive this one. Demoing the FET now. Incredible flexibility. Under-rated IMHO.
Then again, this is GS and after a month or so the new "darling" plug runs out of gas, only to be replaced by the next new "fad".

never got the hang of it... ended up giving up ... the cla 76 though is awesome... the 1176 included in sonar x1 too...

also its really an agressive pushing type comp... would not use it to master, but who knows...

It sounds even better using the look ahead- function. Less artifacts in the sound that way.

I have an 1176 emulation on my TFPro P38EX which I have tried against the Softube FET Compressor and so far in every blind test I have preferred the hardware. To be honest, the same goes for every software compressor I have ever tried against a decent hardware compressor.
