Original post:

Hello everyone,
To those who don't know me, my name's Dax Liniere.
I'm an engineer, producer and also beta tester for several companies.

On the Samplitude board, we were discussing a group buy of Algorithmix LinearPhase Red EQ, NON-educational version.
Many people showed interest, so I offered to organise it.

The street price is about us$1350-us$1500, but I couldn't say what the final group price could be, because at this stage I have not contacted Petar at Algorithmix. I've opted instead to first see how many people are actually interested.

So, everyone who's genuinely interested (Remembering that it could cost anywhere between us$500-$1499! ), please register your intentions here and let's see what the masses can achieve!

EDIT:
PLEASE try to stay on topic! *pleads*
This thread is for expressions of interest in a group buy of Algoithmix Red EQ, not Blue or Sonoris or anything else.
It makes my job much harder and there are already 1000 posts comparing EQs. If you're interested in buying this EQ, then post accordingly.

If some people are interested in Algo Orange, I can ask, I'm sure it will be fine.

Where there ? Cannot see it anywhere ... For me personally $200-300 would be a right maximum price for a software EQ plugin ... More than that is simply overpriced ... If they offer it within such dimensions, I would go for it ...

I tried the demo some time ago ago and while I liked it, it was over priced for a piece of software.
I agree, I'd be interested if it is in the realistic price bracket.

Ivo,
You clearly haven't heard this EQ.
It is often compared to offerings by Weiss, costing at least twice as much.

Try the demo, it's free to do so.

I tried both Orange and Red quite a lot ... so I know them ... They are nice, but not worth $1500 for me ... Around $300 would be adequate ... They have not very comfortable GUI (comparing to some other EQ plugins)

Yes, I know, but I'm working on that.
I'm going to wrap the GUI using mGUI and then send it to Algo so they can see what features their users want.

For me, the Epure II GUI is the best EQ GUI ever.

It is actually a bit strange for me: for such a price they should offer the best and most comfortable GUI that is known among plugins. The sound is all right, but the user interface is a bit amateurish, cannot help .... Now the potential users will do the job for them ))

While you're at it Dax, get them to port their product line to OSX. They have this bee in their bonnet about it taking too much work & how Windows is the future for audio, how naive & slack?!? It's time they stepped up & created for us Mac users!

For linear phase duties, the Sonoris LPEQ kicks some serious ass:

If it is within a couple of months then I am also interested.

We are talking VST here are'nt we? Cause if it is DX then I am not participating.
Because I want to be able to run it in Cubase 5 also.

But right now I am very low on cash etc after buying UAD-2 Quad #2.

Yeah - $1500! dodgy non-intuitive interface and no Mac OSX compatibility - even at $500... I dunno, the competition is very strong for great eq's right now.

I'm with Ivo on this one; I'm in if it's at a very good price point.

I'm skeptical Algo will come off things that much, but business is likely slow so it's possible they'll make a great deal and it never hurts to ask.

Now a group buy on Renovator, Scratchfree or other specialized signal processing that exists only for computers might make more sense, but that's getting away from the point of this thread. Keep this in mind for future group buys. thanks to daxliniere making the effort to benefit everyone.

Count me in if you manage to negotiate a good price.

Why not expand it to a red/blue combination, if possible? I would want both of them.

+1!! I find I use the minimal phase EQ even more though. Both to me are well worth having and I find the gui to be superior to Algorithmix's.

I'm in, depending on the price. Do be aware that Vintage King has the plug for
$1350, and I found an academic version for $900 at

Algorithmix LinearPhase PEQ Red

Cheapest way to get the Blue EQ is to buy an SSL Duende of some flavour and then buy the X-EQ optional plug-in. Same code.
