| Gear nut | finding the right CD-R drive
I have a Mac Pro, and recently installed a Windows XP drive to do mastering on since OSX seems to be lacking a good, easy to use mastering software. Anyway, I want to install a good master CD burning drive in the 2nd optical bay of the Mac Pro. I've heard that Plextor is the way to go, does anybody know if this drive would install in the Mac Pro and be recognized by Windows XP? Plextor PX-806SA-BULK Internal DVD Super Multi Drive OEM - 20x DVD+R, 8X DVD+RW, 20x DVD-R, 6x DVD-RW, 16x DVD-ROM,12x DVD-RAM, SATA at TigerDirect.com Or is there a better option? I see a Plextor in the $200 price range but I'm thinking it's mainly more expensive cause it does BluRay, which I'm not interested in. I just want to make quality audio cd's. Thanks for any advice. |
