Mastering Advice

I've been learning how to Master in the Box for the last 4 years. I use mainly Sam 9, Lin mb, L2 and I have got to the point where I can balance eq and compress fairly quickly. I am strictly digital atm and I recently realised that all my masters are very very consistent now. I can see that with the analyser as well.

I'm self taught and have no illusions about going professional but what do I need to learn now or what can I do to improve the masters in the digital domain or have I arrived?

Yes, you've arrived... Now you can charge your customers $300hr when they come to you and see how much money you've spent in your room build and monitoring chain.
Now that you've gotten YOUR masters consistant, try to do that with all the clients you have coming through the door. That part seperates the wannabe's from the ME's who've done it for years!

Good-luck,

When you have a stream of clients that keeps you occupied every week and your business continues to grow every year via word of mouth or personal referrals - you know you have arrived.

When this is your sole job occupation - not only have you arrived - you are now living the dream.

Best wishes,

It's impossible for anyone to know what you already know let alone guess as to what else you need to learn. My first thought though is that I've been doing this thing for 16+ years and the one thing that has constantly evolved is my learning "how to listen". Everyone has learned the knobs and such in the early years but I think really learning to listen is something that I don't think you can reach nirvana on. It seems like there is always someplace else to go with it. I'd suggest concentrating on that more (or even more if you are already doing it).

Cheers

Paul
