clipping during dithering? what?

i just finalized my mastering session and bounced my track... i'm using izotope ozone for mastering and logic pro 8 as DAW...

i applied a limiter margin of -0.2 and the track didn't clip at all when i played it through... however, when i applied MBIT+ dithering when i bounced the track in realtime, it showed that it was clipping about 0.5 above red...

is this normal, or what should i do?

i'm a newbie to mastering,

thanks

and also, i just noticed that my bounced track sounds a lot louder than my unbounced track...

i don't have normalize on, so i don't understand why it sounds louder than the unbounced track...

what level dither are you adding?? -10dBFS? :P

sorry no clue. doesn't sound like a dither thing to me though.
are you sure you are not adding any level after Ozone?

i selected the MBIT+ dithering option with high noise shaping, 16 bit, normal...

the RMS was at about -7 before applying dither

i wasn't serious about the dither level...

dither could push a -0.2 dBFS signal over the edge, but if you hear a significant loudness increase, something else is going on.

i figured out what happened, my bad... i played back the wave file under another track i created in the mastering session while i still had ozone running in the output 1-2 track.. so i was hearing it with ozone x 2 applied (one from the bounce and one from the output 1-2)...

i know, very funny...
