Thread Starter | Does such a program exist? I realized all I want is a program that is basically, for example, the cd burning/audio montage section of Wave Lab. I don't need fx or anything else. I just want to be able to drop in final tracks and manipulate their pauses, spacings, segues (if any), cd-text, be able to use track markers and create red-book CD's as well as DDP images and pq sheets. I've searched high and low. Does such a program exist? |

| Lives for gear | WaveLab Essentials? The "Basic CD" setting in WaveLab? CD Architect is also nice... Most of them are going to give you stuff you don't need...

Yep, I checked them all out. CD architect at first glance seems nice, but I realized its exporting formats are really limited. You can save as either a cd architect project - naturally. Or, a "wav image file" which is one long wav file of all your loaded tracks supposedly with all the cd text, track markers in tact, etc. Its true when you load it back into cd architect, but its otherwise useless. Wave lab essentials, in concept, sounds like it would be what I want, but they basically stripped out the stuff i would need as a comprehensive cd preparing software and left the some of the other stuff I dont want. My thought process here was, maybe I could have found a prog that is totally comprehensive as a cd preparing/final layout mastering prog and for less money, perhaps. But it seems no such thing exists.

| Lives for gear | I'm missing something -- I was under the impression you were looking for a "plain Jane" authoring program - WaveLab Essentials sounds right up your alley - although it does much more than simply author the disc. Same with CD Architect, Samplitude Master, etc. DDP is another story to some extent... But everything else, as in, a basic program to author compliant discs, is all there and then some. Cheap. |

Products :: PreMaster CD Main But it runs only on MacOSX. You are probably looking for a windows application?

Somsto: The limiting factor here is DDP. There is currently hardly any cheap solutions out there, the only exception being Audiofile Wave Editor (OSX only) - though I don't know if it's flexible enough with regards to your needs. Maybe a user can comment. Next cheapest app to your specs, I believe, is Sonic Premaster CD.
