Hurricane Ike

Howdy folks,

I know I haven't been around here much lately, but I thought I'd give you an update:

Houston is really messed up. Power is still down for 75% of the city. I bailed out yesterday afternoon to come to Austin.

The studio is in pretty good shape EXCEPT that a tree fell on the main power lines coming into the building and ripped the lines/pole/meter right off the building.

It's going to be at least a week before we're back up and running.

If you can help in any way (donations to Red Cross, etc) please do.

Allen

Hey there... good luck with everything. It's funny how they name the hurricane after a "brotha".

yeah, and boy did we get bitch slapped! any other h-town homies that need anything get in touch! we got our water and power back today so i am fully operational at the house. i wish i could say that for the rest of the area. i don't know when i'll be able to return to work since they don't have power! slowly things are returning to normal, but man does it feel slow. phone service is still pretty much useless.

Glad you and your studio made it(mostly). I've got family down there and have talked to them exactly once since the evernt. They made iit through--have no power and it's just about impossible to get a phone call through, cell or land.

I've extended the offer to come to Austin for a few days, but have no idea if they wil do that. I'm half expecting them to show up any minute.

Do you know of any web site or other info about power restoration in Houstion?

They're in the Missouri City area.

I have family in the Woodlands...They've left because they're being told not to expect power for 1 month. my cousin's townhouse was destroyed by a tornado that spurred off the storm. She is ok and was with family at the time. Best Wishes on your studio's recovery...Glad to hear it will only be a week.

power on here

I have power back at my studio. Only had a little water blow through the back doors but all in all came through clean. No power at home but the house is undamaged. Just a lot of tree limbs everywhere.
Anyone in Houston who needs to get some work done, feel free to email me.

Glad to hear the studio is fine, y'all hang in there. We had a Cat 1 blow through on Sunday and lost power for 2+ days, still no internet at the studio today ... a week like that would get old in a hurry.
