Waves L2 hardware word clock update?

Hi all,

I remember seeing a post in the past (and all my searching has not been able to find it) regarding a company that would update the Wave L2 hardware digital interface to work with the current crop of external clocks (Big Ben/etc...).

Can someone please tell me the company name or better yet contact info for the company that performs this update/mod?

Many thanks in advance,
Mike

Does this modification improve the sound of the processing ?
or just the converter's sound ?

Neither. It let's you synchronize the L2 via WC, that's all. I had mine done and it sounds exactly the same on AES sync as it does on Ext. WC.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

I've left a message with ICB Audio, and a guy at Waves also gave me these folks in MA:

High Tech Electronics
60 Island St.
Lawrence, MA 01841
(978) 686-8742
HTES

If anyone's had any experience with them it would be great to hear some feedback.

Cheers & best,
Mike

Would be great to have a company for the mod in Europe also.
Is there anything known?

We recently have had digital gear fixed at this place, two outboard FX units and they did a great job. We also had the L2 hardware unit word clock updated, but that was done through ICB audio years ago.

Occasionally, we still have problems with it not clocking to the BigBen, where we hear an obvious distortion/hissing sound. Simply turning the L2 off and back on again fixes it, we always turn the master word clock BigBen on first, but still once in a while the L2 needs itself reset, which is a hassle and we have to check it first before running entire mixes through it.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I felt I should mention my experience.
Hardware L2 wouldn't receive Ext Word Clock in thru the BNC connector.
Rang the Aust Waves distributor.
He suggested I remove the R151 Resister - 75 ohms - it's a little surface mount resisiter - tiny little thing - be careful not to damage the tracks when removing.
Worked a treat - unit now receiving Word Clock from my BLA Micro Clock Mark II perfectly.
Sounds warmer than using the internal clocking too.
