Reference mixes/tracks

Just curious what various different tracks/CDs folk use for reference mixes (mixing and mastering) for any and all genres of music. Not really looking for a golden list to use either; I'm aware that the best thing to use (generally) is music that you know intimately. I'm just curious.

I'll start it off. In the past months I've used the Hourglass by James Taylor, Instrumentals by Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, Damnation by Opeth, Deadwing by Porcupine Tree, From Mars to Sirius by Gojira, and Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd.

I just discovered Opeth's Damnation. Haven't played it in the studio yet but it sounds very good at home indeed. Great album!

My reference favorites:
Toto - Mindfields
Rage Against the Machine - idem

As a side discussion, i'm thinking about something i read in another post recently concerning level:
As it is better to mix for level (after good sound that is!!) rather than smashing it afterwards, would it be a good thing to keep louder cd's as a mix reference ? Thoughts ?
Not that i want to advocate loud records at all - but you know, if you have to ...

Luckily i can say that i usually get away with the levels of those 10+ year old albums mentioned above.
