I am reading the Hammer´s data. It must be a very good product, but only three bands per channel? Do they have something else enhanced for mastering? I mean, include maybe a HPF and a LPF.

| They have filters (more tailored for tracking), do you mean shelving? Yeah, 3 bands isn't enough, but as a boost eq, it would do the trick (with another eq for notching, etc).

| If you like big, warmth, really dark sounding box, the Drawmer 1961 will be your best friend. First piece I worked with, love it !!

What about the DAV BG3? It seems the cheapest EQ that calls itself a 'mastering EQ'. I HAVE NEVER HEARD THE UNIT, OR PLAYED WITH ANY 'EXPENSIVE' EQ'S, so it's not a reccomendation based on anything but knowing that DAV are known for value for money and are a classy company. Incidentally, I just got myself a Nemesis Audio Q4D that I ma having upgraded by the original designer and I also just got two Aphex 9901 EQ's. This is my first delve in to 'quality' outboard EQ. Cheers

+1 on the NSEQ-2. There's stuff that I can do with that EQ that is not possible on any other EQ that I own, and I own a lot of other EQ's. The comment about them being soft seems a bit off to me, as this is the first EQ that I reach for if I need a mix (or anything) to pop out of the speakers. You'd be doing yourself a serious disservice to not at least try one out. |

Almost one year has passed and yes, I ended up picking the IBIS EQ. I would even buy a second Ibis EQ for additional bands or the NSEQ2. Many thanks for all this info. BTW..I Love Crane stuff (Hedd 192 and soon STC8). |
