Sonnox & inter-sample clipping ...?

I've been using the sonnox limiter for quite awhile now, esp. on groups. I'm demoing other sonnox plugs (AU versions) and have been experimenting with coupling the Inflater & Limiter together. According to the limiter's output meter this combo can produce inter-sample clipping despite there being no additional input gain on the Limiter.

My question is does the Inflator produce inter-sample clipping, or is it the combination of the two devices, or is it all in the limiter only?

I'd just like to note I'm not particularly mastering anything, but who to better to ask than mastering engineers regarding sample reconstruction.

The Sonnox Limiter manual says it will automatically compensate for inter-sample peaks when it has the "Auto Comp" (Auto Compensate) button in. When selected this button will reduce the peak information by the smallest amount possible that will still eliminate the inter-sample peak, and it does this only for the duration of the over. The "Recon Meter" (Reconstruction Meter) will still display these inter-sample overs but the color will be changed to show that it has been corrected for. You can read about it more in the manual if you download it from them, or just leave the oxford limiter in auto comp mode as the last processor in the chain and it should take care of the rest.

I've been reading all the manuals, and am actually rereading the limiter one at the moment. The solution to eliminate overs with autocomp is handy, but I'd like learn about other approaches where perhaps the Inflator ramps up the sonics and the limiter just keeps it all in check.
I dunno know, mabye it's not such a big deal...
Ooooo! My hot pocket is ready!!!
Later.
