Volume changes in singles?

Here are two examples:

YouTube - "HOLLYHOOD" Vawn feat Jazze Pha (1:25)
YouTube - young joc-coffe shop (starts low and gets really l lot louder at 2:20 ,get`s lower after that. parts in general are way louder compared to the hook)

Why have they made the volume change in the middle of the track?
They lowered it...why?
I mean I'm sure this wasn't an error or something ,so whats the deal with it?
I noticed this on a lof of singles lately.

Is it to keep listeners atention (they turn up the volume in the hook and hear it way louder than usually)
Any ideas?

It confuses me all the time.
I always think my speakers are broken or the cables aren`t plugged in correctly.

Kind of OT of the thread - but back in the early 90's a friend of mine concocted a game where we would watch videos on Yo MTV Raps with a stop watch and bet on long or short on how many seconds it would be before a rapper would put his hands up into the camera. Usually any long bet for over 15 seconds was a loser!

Amazing how some things never change.

Anyway - on that first vid seems like it's very possible that there the drop in the audio level was made in the transfer to computer or conversion to compressed video format. A better judgement would be gotten from a different source (hopefully higher res) than YouTube.

Best regards,
