I have the opportunity to buy one fairly inexpensively. I like the sound of it a lot for certain apps. i was wondering who out there is using one, or if it's worth the extra $ for the 9500 and any big differences between the two?

thanks

I'm probably in the minority - I went through two of them. Just wasn't crazy about 'em.

*If* I were going back to them, I probably would get the 9500... The tolerances that were considered "normal" on the 8200 left me flabbergasted. 1/2dB cut on one side was nearly a 3dB cut on the other to match it. When I sent it in, it was considered "Within Specs."

I'm not sure *who's* spec, but it certainly wasn't what I would consider "within specs" on a $5500 EQ.

I would imagine the stepped switch tolerances on the 9500 would be much better.

But yes, for certain applications, it was a nice sounding unit.
