Thread Starter | attack problem..help!
Hi..my mastered mixes for hiphop/ rnb always sound "closed and contained" and the attack is lost after mastering. Unmastered, the mixes sound fine. I have a TC M6000 but its limiter has an attack problem (i think)..out of frustration i'm using ozone isotope. sometimes use tc for multiband. I always pay careful attention to transients, lo cut and avoid over compression. I've tried compressing more on the individual tracks instead of the master buss as well. Room is tuned, speakers genelec 8050 good enough and no frequncy response anomalies in the unmastered mixes (check with analyzers). Why dosent my stuff bang like the pros?!! Used to get much better results with finalizer before upgrading to the 6000! Any ideas..tips? Help please..losing my hair because of this |

If you use plugins, at least try with Waves SSL, but not Izotope Ozone and not Finalizer... it can't do anything good for the transients without destroying the rest of audio.
