too much clipping

there should be a law against clipping / overmaximizing ...
especially on tv and radio commercials
i'm talking about the Fiat Punto Grande commercial,
it sound 2x louder but also very very distorted
it just hurts my ears
stop this loudness war
make music, not loud

:)

I don't know if you're talking about the same one I have seen.

If that's the case the music they used for the ad. in its original (released) version sounds so bad it is a joke. No wonder it sounds even worse in TV form.

Too much of anything can be bad in the wrong hands. Clipping, compressing, limiting, eqing.. There is somewhat out there who could screw all of them up.
