You can also connect the HEDD digitally using S/PDIF. I run my HEDD with a Pro Tools HD system & I connect it to the AES-EBU connector on my Digital 192 I/O & I also clock Pro Tools from the HEDD's wordclock output this provides the best conversion & clock for my HD rig. Having it connected digitally is the best way to go as you can also use it as a digital hardware insert if you only wanted to use the HEDD's onboard processing (valve & tape sims) on some things. I also have a Benchmark DAC-1 which I am currently using as my monitoring D/A this is also an AES-EBU connection out of the 192 interface. But the S/PDIF connection also works fine.

Digi makes a digital-only interface.

I need new mastering conversor. Mytek 8x192 or lavry blue? Why is more cheapest the mytek unit than lavry? Mytek has clocks, 8 AD DA, passive atennuator and summing. Lavry haven't got summing, atennuartor and clocks. Wich is the secret ?

hello everyone,

i often read the topic about converters and we rarely talk about dcs 954 and 904
. for my mastering chains , i began with a hedd 192. i found it really clean, musical and analog way (something in the low ..) i just talk about the converters not the process. i just find that the AD clip too quicly

then, i bought a lavry blue ad+da, really happy with it, more natural than the hedd, better bass define, better da than the hedd. interesting functions

i was likely to be able to buy a pair of DCS to me and find this machines incredible, a natural i've never seen before ..a lot of function inside,pc remote, different format , dual or quad aes(dsd), generator, 4 types of anti alias filters...the price is high but this converters are really complete and powerfull,

any tought about it ??

I actually tried the 905/955 combo because I needed DXD/DSD conversion. I felt that yes, they were easy to clip and when they did, it was very un-natural/harsh, unlike the converters that have soft clipping or extra headroom. I also felt they didn't have the natural/transparent DSD sound like the EMM Labs does. Otherwise, they are great converters. They would be my first choice for DSD if EMM wasn't available. They're also less expensive!

Regards,
Bruce

why lavry converters cost double or triple to mytek? I don't understand if mytek is same or better quality to lavry his cost is less.

I'm guessing that Polish labor costs are lower ... Mytek is designed in the US and made in Poland.
