BIAS Peak DDP export module

Anyone using it? Is it reliable?

It's $399 - for an extra $76 I could get Sonic PMCD instead, would that be smarter?

Any other esoteric options for the Mac in that price range?

The only downside of using PMCD v1.x for DDP images is no CD-Text support.

Hoping Sonic will fix that in v2.0 which I believe is beta testing soon.

Don't know if Peak DDP supports CD-Text or not.

You'll get a FAR better editor with PMCD. That's a no-brainer IMO.

I'd jump on Sonic PMCD too. To clarify the CD-Text point, you can burn a CD with CD-text, but can't include the text on the DDP image in the current version.

hey all, dredging up this "old" thread.

I just learned today that the forthcoming version of Audiofile Engineering's WaveEditor (1.3) will fully support DDP export. The company also says (according to a thread I created at bigbluelounge) that DDP loadback is planned, but will come later.

So for $150 (competitive upgrade price) I get virtually everything PMCD offers at $1100 (the DDP loadback option for PMCD is $595!!!) - and of course, much more robust editing, plus Izotope SRC and Mbit dither, which I have only READ good things about (can't insist it sounds better, I haven't actually heard it yet!)

Crikey, even at full retail ($250) it's a good $149 cheaper than the Peak add-on from BIAS...

This one seems to be a no-brainer to me, or have I overlooked something obvious?

Allegedly, yes, it does, it should be fully DDP 2.0 compliant (which I believe includes CD-TEXT).

But then I found this...

www.bias-inc.com :: Log in

This is the only complaint I've seen, mind you, and I don't have the export module - I've gone with Wave Editor instead for less than half the price, so I believe the acronym applicable here is 'YMMV.'

EDIT: Steve from BIAS responded to the complaint yesterday with useful info. So I guess it's not a problem with the Peak module.
