There are are also some vst plugins doing the same:
TC Works/TC Electronic Assimilator for Powercore (or Konnekt24)
Voxengo Curve EQ

you could do it yourself with Lin-EQ and Paz-Freq...

Just watch...adjust....keep watching

At first glance, I always think it's "Hair-Ball" - too many cats around here, I guess...

I still call it Hair Ball. It's actually a fairly decent EQ. As far as the goofy "matching the sound" part, that's another story.

I think one HarBal is enough. The rest of us can just use our ears.

I think Harbal is a fantasic EQ, it is a real problem solver for me - especially with my mix room environment.

I do not use the match feature though as I find little use for it, but when you get into Harbal, for home mastering, eq balancing etc, it is very, very useful indeed.

p.s. Remember, it will not fix a sh*tty mix though - you still have to be able to hear the problems, Harbal will enable you to identify a few frequency anomalies, it will not turn down a loud heavy bass or bring up a too quiet vocal. When you become familiar with it - it is an extremely useful tool.
