Triggering Odyssey with Kenton CV-Gate??

Hello,

I have no trouble sending midi via my kenton CV-Gate convereter to my other older synths such as the SH 101 etc.. but am stumped with getting the odyssey to make sound via the midi i send it

anyone here know what i may be doing worng

I have noticed that while senidng midi data to the odyssey if i hold down a key, the initial key will sound out but then faintly in the backgorund i can hear the midi pattern it should be playing, playing softly in teh background, like the release of the first note i hit is actually playing the midi pattern??
