Thumbs up House/Trance/Electronic Kick Tip!

Hey guys,
Been reading the forum since my early days - figured i'd finally join and post!

For the money (~100 USD) the DBX 166A rocks on kick drums for dance music. Gives it a nice punch and dirtyness to it - we use it on every track.

Sorry!!

Hey , sorry because i won't be answering you thread but i was wondering because earlier i think i saw a thread here about a guy who was publicising about a NEW forum concerning only about TRANCE/HOUSE music, i would love to have the LINK.

Thanx and hope someone for sure will answer your question..

Thanks for the tip! I used to have a 266A which didn't sound very good. The 166A is much better, eh? Btw, I checked out your site, you guys sound great! I particularly liked your version of "I need u tonight".

What other key pieces of equipment do you guys use for those thumping tracks? They sound really good. Congrats

Sirocco - whats up homie? Where's my sample cd?????

Varaldo thanks for the compliment! In my opinion the answer to your questions is simple - Good A/D converters, summing on an analog board, good monitors, skill & patience! Summing on an analog board takes the digital edge off mixing in box and makes things sound much cleaner or dirtier depending on what you want. For example we have our main mix running through a clean midas board while our percussion/drum submix is done through an oldskool dirty/warm yamaha pcm mixer.
