| I received my package on Friday with 2 Tri-Traps and 6 of the 2" acoustic panels. Now I don't know the first thing about acoustic treatment or what these panels should look/feel like, but these are well constructed and the bright blue matches my room perfectly So far I only have put the Tri Traps in the front corners of my room and hung 2 of the panels on the wall... and I can already hear a difference in the sound from my room. Things sound a little more crisp and the bass is more defined.... and this is thru some TERRIBLE Jensen bookshelf speakers. I have the Yamaha HS80Ms coming tomorrow night so I can't wait until I can hear my room's new sound thru those and once I get all my acoustic treatment up... So far so good Glenn!! -Damien- |

| Gear maniac | I had a similar experience when I ordered my 4 tri-traps from Glenn. It was like I just upgraded my monitors. This was with Adam S3-A's.. Just goes to show you how important these treatments really are, and the tri-traps are a STEAL. Congrats on your purchase! Jon ![]() |

| Thanks guys for the kind words. Maybe one of these days acoustics (hopefully GIK ) will become as standard as the SM57. Glenn |

| I've been looking into GIK and Ready traps myself. Any real difference between how Rock wool and 703 performs? I'm looking for maximum impact in the least amount of space. Also can the GIK Tritraps be mounted at the ceiling instead of the floor and be just as effective? How much trapping does one need to be effective? My Room is really small (Like 11L x 9W x 7 1/2 cieling) and I can barely stand to lose any room unless I place stuff towards the ceiling. Straddling in the corners at the floor is something I'd like to avoid. I'd like to mount the tritrap at the ceiling, and then maybe some 4-6" traps above the radiator on the back wall since I can't put anything flush to that wall anyhow. Yes I'm really that cramped, and changing the room is not an option right now. My problem frequencies seem to be mainly sub 80hz. No I haven't shot the room, so there are sure to be other freq probs as well. My mixes come out OK and translate OK, but the Low end is a REAL struggle. I'm mixing on HR824's, and a second set of home speakers with deep bass response for a sanity check. |

| I have seen the ML's mounted high [both horizontal and vertical corners]... I wonder how they did it. Adhesive? I have always disliked that solution... such a mes if you want to change things around. It wouldn't be difficult to mount ML's on a board, or bracket or some such and then hang the bracket, but I don't know of anyone ever doing it. I'll ask Jeff next time I talk to him and if the answer is intersting, I'll report back. A silimilar method [if he has one to suggest] might work well for the TriTrap. |

That might not be a bad idea. I will have to give it a try and see if it would work. I like to put it in the corner and put a plant on the damn thing, but not everyone is into that.. Either that or just stack them floor to ceiling.Glenn | |
