Thread Starter | This Mic Rocks! StudioProjects T3 tube/multi-pattern simply put, this is the best "bang for the buck" mic out there that ive tried. i record mostly indierock and metal, and this thing really sounds great. super smooth sound and a great tool to have in any studio at $600 (and if youre a smart gearslut, you know you can get it WAY cheaper!). just my two cents worth. i hope this helps anyone thats on the fence about this mic, or is in the market for a new mic at all. -JD |

| I hope you didn't just buy the mic, the V2's or whatever they're called are coming out with improved electronics and some other small changes. Check out the "New SP mics" thread over at homerecording.com. Alan Hyatt from PMI(Studio Projects, Joe Meek etc...) makes an appearance and gives some info on the new line. |

| Anyway, what matters in the end is that the mic fits you and the music you're recording. If you're going for a kind of lo-fi indie sound or metal vocals, you don't really need the greatest mic ever. The latest album Iworked on was in kind of a punk-pop style, alot of people ask me what mic I used for the vocals, well I just tell them that the singer insisted on using a shure pg58 ( ), and it did indeed sound awesome on his voice... |

| Well I'm might be exagerating a little when I say it sounded awesome, but it didn't sound pretty damn good. |

Personally, the T3 is a nice addition to my mic cabinet (it fills a specific niche perfectly for me) and I won't be selling it any time soon! -mr moon

Only time will tell, but I do not doubt anything you said here. People love their originals. | |
