Soundcraft M8 or EPM 8?

Hi, has anyone had a chance to compare these mixers? I'm interested in buying one and am wondering how the mic pres and overall audio quality compare. The M8 uses the same pres as their Ghost production console and the EPM8 uses the GB30 preamps from their LX7ii & GB live consoles. Which one would you recommend for studio use? (I'm not interested in the Mackie ONYX because it's well out of my price range

I have a M12 and have used the pre's direct out on a number of sessions. One of the Soundcraft reps at Tape-op NOL said they were not exactly the same, but of the same design as the Ghost. For the price, I'm happy, and the SPDF out is a nice feature.
