This is gonna be bad for a couple of reasons.#1) The length is almost exactly twice the width, which is gonna mess up your sound.#2) The height will also place the monitors almost exactly halfway between the floor and ceiling, also messing up your judgement. Is there ANY other room available that is NOT exactly a 2:1 ratio with length vs width???

drummerboy1533 pointed out the room shape to you which I do have to agree. But if this is the room you are working with then I would start by placing the mix position (where you sit) 38% of the room length. Then place bass traps floor to ceiling in all corners of the room. You may want to hit also some of the wall to ceiling corners also. At this point place some thinner panels (2" should be fine) in all first reflection points of the room (see our FAQ on my sig to figure this out). DON'T FORGET THE CEILING. Last and not least you want to put some 4" panels on the back wall to help with sound hitting the back wall and coming back on you.

Hope that helps a little.

Glenn

Get a good set of cans and a can amp with cross-feed.

Why is there a window in a broom closet? Or maybe it was a toilet and sink room?

wow.

i thought my room was small.

i'd be interested in some additional info as well.

I need to put something in the room, but it's crammed with so much stuff, I'm missing a ton of wall real estate.

Thank god for good monitors and compensation, but it'd be nice to tune it out a little.

it should be doable...

compare it to a mobile recording truck... it's not ideal, but you can do something with it.
