Dark Preamp Kit

Out of all the Hamptones and the Seventh Circle kits, which on has the most dark sound?

I'm going to use it with my Pearlman TM-1. I'm looking for a dark but well defined sound.

If you're into kits, this guy can set you up, but it would be 500 series format, which means you'd need a lunchbox. He just built me a 'neve-ish' pre which sounds fabulous. Beefy, but with some sizzle on the high end. In fact, I'm guessing his pre sounds a lot like your mic. You'd probably want him to tame the high end a bit for what you're looking for.

Without hearing them all, I'd guess the N72.
