digitech studio quad - "new" vs "old"

hello

i have a digitech studio quad, the "old" one, with the black face. i have upgraded the firmware to v 2.00.

i use it for live acts, as a "dubmachine" controlled by MIDI.

i know there is the newer version - with blue face.

what's the difference? is it worth to "upgrade"? is it bigger (deeper) than the old one (if it is, there's no room in my rack for it)

hope to find some old digitech slutz...

Hi
I also have an earlier model blackface "quad' in my live rig. Surprisingly the reverb patches in aren't half bad. The only difference between the older model and the new blue face quad is a few more effects banks and I also believe that the I/O's are balanced. Everything else including the overall dimensions are identical between the units.

thanks for the reply

there is an annoying bug in the "black" one:

it's about ANALOG DELAY

here's how to "recreate" this bug:

1. make a program with ANALOG DELAY algorithm
2. assign a MODIFIER (midi controller) to its DELAY parameter
3. set its MAX value to 700 ms
4. save the program, load another one and the first one, with AN DEL again
5. the MAX value isn't 700 ms anymore, it changed to 188 ms

dplitt: could you please tell me if you have similar bug in your unit?

anybody: does somebody has a new, blueface unit? can you check if this bug is there, too?

thanx in advance

By saying dubmachine i assume that you talk about THE effect i am after..
I mean does it have similar function like in in DIGITECH STUDIO 400, that when modifying delay time, that changes pitch of the delays as well..?
