Thread Starter | Upgrade on Firebox
Hi, This is my first post, I've been using firebox and MXL 990 at 96k. I am impressed with the sound, but its cold and not as "musical" as some 46k recordings i've done at other places . I plan to upgrade my equipment to work with my firebox. should I : (1) get a tube mic (2) get a tube preamp, keep the mic (3) get a tube preamp, get a nice solid state mic (4) get a tube preamp, get a tube mic (5) get a compressor? sorry I am a newbie, but do you all think these equipment will make the same recording sound a little more "musical" thanks. any suggestion is welcome |
