I'm deciding on a synth for desktop and the Moog Slim Phatty ($600 local offer) and the Nord Rack 2X ($1090 online) look good, I don't know if I can get the nord ($ issues), but I'm also in need of advice on which, or any others (besides Blofeld) i'm overlooking. Thanks!
The nord and Moog are incredibly different. I'm a nord owner myself
The answer should always come down to what sound you want rather than what synth. If you can answer that then you are good to go. They both have different characteristics and ways of operation.

I'm myself, a progressive house (think deadmau5 brazil 2nd edit) guy, but I do want a little bit of bass and oomph for a bit of electro-house (think EDX everything cazzette remix) and chill dubstep (think Deadmau5 and Kaskade "I remember Caspa remix). Though I am interested in mild sound design for games and movies.
